The new Russian trade representative in the UAE met with the Vice President of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.
On January 19, newly appointed Russian Federation Trade Representative in the United Arab Emirates, H.E. Andrey Terekhin, met with Mr. Hassan Al Hashemi, Vice President, International Relations, Dubai Chamber of Commerce. EurAsia Gulf management was also present during the meeting.
Mr. Terekhin stated during this meeting that trade between the Russian Federation and the United Arab Emirates has increased significantly over the last two years and that the political well is favorable for expanding current levels, as Russian companies look to Dubai in particular and the United Arab Emirates in general as a gateway to the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia. Mr. Terekhin noted that in addition to traditional areas of cooperation, it is vital to expand cooperation in the field of high technologies, food industry, pharmaceuticals, and other areas.
Mr. Al Hashemi stated that Russia is an important partner for Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. As a result, Dubai Chamber plans to open an international office in Moscow in the near future. Mr. Omar Khan, Director Of International Offices at Dubai Chamber, highlighted the Dubai Chamber’s aim in attracting leading Russian enterprises to the UAE, including Yandex and others.
Mr. Nawar Abdul Wahed, CEO of EurAsia Gulf, confirmed Russian enterprises’ interest in expanding to the United Arab Emirates and stated that EurAsia Gulf is assisting them in accomplishing this goal.
Ms. Anna Koriakovskaia, Head of Innovation & Technology at EurAsia Gulf, discussed the committee’s role in bridging this vital industry between the two countries.
