Tajikistan and the United Arab Emirates discussed cooperation in the field of labor

Ambassador of Tajikistan to the United Arab Emirates Bahodur Sharifi on January 18 at a meeting with the Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization of the UAE Abdurrahman Abdulmannon al-Ur in Abu Dhabi discussed issues of cooperation in the field of labor, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan reports.

In particular, during the meeting, issues of cooperation between the Ministry of Labor and Employment of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Labor and Emiratization of the UAE were discussed.

The parties also considered the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the government of Tajikistan and the government of the United Arab Emirates dated April 16, 2018.

It should be noted that according to the Memorandum of Understanding, citizens of Tajikistan can be engaged in labor activities on the territory of the United Arab Emirates on the basis of an employment contract between the worker and the employer, which, in accordance with the labor legislation of the UAE, is approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization of this country.

According to the Statistical Agency of the Republic of Tajikistan, the trade turnover between Tajikistan and the UAE for 11 months of last year amounted to $25.5 million, and this figure is 1.8 times more compared to the same period in 2020.

The volume of exports of Tajik products for this period amounted to $9.4 million, and imports of goods from the UAE – $16.1 million.
