Seismologists of Azerbaijan to conduct trainings for colleagues from the UAE

Representatives of the Republican Seismological Service Center of ANAS and the head of the tsunami warning center of the National Meteorological Center of the United Arab Emirates Khalifa Al Ebri held an online meeting on the Zoom platform, the press service of the Republican Seismological Service Center of Azerbaijan reports.

The head of the Azerbaijani Seismology Center, Gurban Yetirmishli, noted that seismic stations in Dubai were installed by Azerbaijani seismologists a few years ago. The meeting also provided information on geophysical research conducted by the center and the operation of GPS stations.

Khalifa Al Ebri spoke about the seismic surveys carried out by his organization and the results obtained. He noted that seismological studies in Azerbaijan are at a high level.

Thus, the Arab side noted the interest in the exchange of experience and the implementation of joint projects with Azerbaijani colleagues.

As a result of the meeting, the parties reached a preliminary agreement on signing a memorandum of cooperation.

Thus, Azerbaijani specialists will conduct trainings for their colleagues from the UAE on earthquake early warning systems.
