New Ambassador of Uzbekistan was received by the President of Lithuania

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Lithuania with residence in Riga Kadambay Sultanov held a meeting with the leader of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda on August 17 this year and presented his credentials. The parties positively assessed the political discussion between the republics and the tendency to increase mutual trade and economic cooperation, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.
It was emphasized that among the member states of the European Union, Lithuania became the second largest trade partner of Uzbekistan after Germany in 2020.
Kadambay Sultanov told the President in detail about the results of major reforms achieved in Uzbekistan in recent years under the leadership of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, advancing directions of Uzbek-Lithuanian relations and topics of regional improvement.
Gitanas Nausede said that the capital of Lithuania highly appreciates the ongoing transformations in Uzbekistan, the results of which are welcomed by all EU countries.
The opinion was expressed that the planned signing of an agreement on expanded cooperation and partnership will significantly intensify all-round interaction between Uzbekistan and the countries of the European Union.
