Eurasian Business Forum – Spotlight into Belarus

EurAsia Gulf, in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, hosted the “Eurasian Business Forum – Spotlight into Belarus” on October 26th, 2021. The purpose of the event was to highlight the many investment prospects that Belarus may provide to GCC companies. It attracts about a hundred high-ranking corporate leaders from the UAE, who had the opportunity to network with Belarusian government and commercial sector authorities.

Ms. Anna Schebsdat, Chair of the EurAsia Gulf Advisory Board, gave a brief introduction before Nawar Abdul Wahed, CEO of EurAsia Gulf, gave the welcoming message.

H.E. Andrei Luchenok, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the United Arab Emirates, gave the keynote presentation, highlighting achievements of the thirty-year Belarussian-Emirati friendship.

Following that, H.E. Dr. Dr. h.c. Raphael Nagel, Chairman & Founder of The Abrahamic Business Circle, presented a guest speech in which he discussed recent developments in the UAE business environment as well as the Abraham Accords’ numerous potential.

The keynote address was given by Mr. Dzmitry Krasouski, Managing Director of the Republic of Belarus’ National Agency of Investment and Privatization. Mr. Krasouski presented the Belarussian government’s various support options for investors and highlighted the most profitable sectors of the Belarussian economy.

Following that, the audience was treated to a special guest appearance and brief speech by Joseph William Foster, co-founder of Reebok.

Panel discussion followed, where experts from government officials and business leaders answered questions about investment opportunities in Belarus and economic ties between the GCC and the Republic of Belarus: H.E. Evgeny Lazarev, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus to Dubai & Northern Emirates and Deputy Commissioner General of Belarus Expo 2020 Pavilion, H.E. Laila Rahhal Elatfani, Goodwill Ambassador and President & Founder of Business Gate, Mr. Dzmitry Krasouski, Managing Director of National Agency of Investment and Privatization of the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Abdo S Kayali, Director General of GCC Offices, EurAsia Gulf. The panel was moderated by Mr. Tadeus Dobrovolskij, Chairman of the Board of EurAsia Gulf.

Finally, the formal segment concluded with concluding remarks by Ms. Aiman Yeskarayeva, Vice-Chairman of the Board, EurAsia Gulf, in which Ms. Yeskarayeva emphasized EurAsia Gulf’s accomplishments since its foundation. The Ambassador and Consul General then presented business leaders with certificates of appreciation.

Several B-2-B meetings were held during the event, where participants discussed a variety of topics in order to enhance trade between the Republic of Belarus and the United Arab Emirates.
