About $ 6 billion will be attracted from the UAE to Kazakhstan

At the briefing, the Deputy Minister was asked a question regarding the planned sale of Ust-Kamenogorsk and Shulbinskaya HPPs to investors from the UAE.

“Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Finance, with the involvement of an international consultant, is assessing objects and the real market value. At what stage is the project now? ” A media representative asked.

Alisher Abdykadyrov noted that the United Arab Emirates is a strategic investment partner of Kazakhstan. He said that a declaration was signed in October, which fully meets the national interests. The declaration identified a number of industries that are of the highest priority for Kazakhstan today: finance, pharmaceuticals, transport, energy.

“In total, within the framework of the declaration, it is planned to attract about 6 billion US dollars from the UAE. For each project, targeted work will be carried out to prepare the relevant documentation, ”explained Abdykadyrov.
